These reproductions have been produced using a technique that uses the sound waves of famous songs to create a visual image. They are limited to just 50 copies worldwide and have been personally signed by some of the world's most famous artists. In some cases the image has been produced in a number of different colourways which means that there are infact just a few of each colour. Regardless of the number of colourways that have been produced the TOTAL number of signed images never exceeds 50.
The Soundwaves project helps raise funds for the Nordoff-Robbins charity that promotes the use of music therapy to help individuals, groups and communities who are challenged by disability, illness or injustice.
Music therapy uses the qualities of music to help children and adults live more creatively and resourcefully in the face of illness, disability or traumatic experiences. Music therapy has a unique way of reaching out to many individuals who previuosly have struggled to express themselves or show reactions in more normal ways. Therapy takes place in schools, hospitals, day centres or purpose-built facilities to individuals or groups.
The Soundwaves Project aims to contribute in excess of a million pounds over the next 2 years to this worthy cause through auctions and celebrity events.
